Bandage Making 24th and 31st August 2022

Last week, Rita kindly hosted a bandage making session and herself and Jan V worked hard rolling bandages. This week Julie hosted the session and Carole, Maureen and Julie prioritised making triangular bandages and tourniquet ties which go into the trauma packs. Bandage Making 16th August 2022

This week’s bandage makers were Christine, Moira, Rita, Barbara, Julie & Janette. Approximately 80 triangular bandages were made today. These go into trauma packs (two in each trauma pack) and over 1500 packs have now been sent to Ukraine. Avery from New Forest for Ukraine is very grateful for our help in achieving this. Bandage Making 20th July

Six members from Brockenhurst WI gathered to make more bandages for Ukraine. New Forest for Ukraine have been gifted some sheets, so we could get going making Triangular bandages which are much needed and go in the trauma packs. Jubilee Celebrations Part Two -Refreshments at the Football Club

On Saturday of the Jubilee weekend, Brockenhurst WI teamed up with the Mother’s Union to provide refreshments at the Platinum Jubilee celebrations at the Brockenhurst Football club. An array of beautiful cakes were made for the occasion by our talented bakers and were very popular. Jubilee Celebrations Part One- Bench Trail

Brockenhurst WI members, led by Issy, organised a Jubilee Bench Trail around the village on Friday. Brockenhurst boasts numerous wooden benches round the village centre. One such bench was erected to celebrate Queen Victoria’s Silver Jubilee in 1860. The village really went to town in 1937 to celebrate King George’s Coronation with the provision of benches.
