August is generally a quiet month for Brockenhurst WI as we don’t have a meeting, but we weren’t idle!
Julie hosted a flower making session to make purple flowers for hats for Brockival. Thank you to those members who came and helped or made flowers at home.

Jayne embroidered our sashes for Brockival. Thank you, Jayne.

We had our annual outing, and this year it was to the Poppy Factory in Richmond. You can read about it here.

With the large fire in the New Forest only a few miles away and Firefighters having to work round the clock, Pam suggested that we make cakes for our Firefighters. Members answered the call and cakes were delivered to Brockenhurst Fire Station and gratefully received.

We received this lovely thank you from Brockenhurst Fire Station:

The Darts team have continued to practice on Thursday morning at The Forrester’s Arms from 11am. They are practicing for a friendly match and the WI tournament in October.

Rita and her team of bandage makers made bandages for Ukraine.

The Knitting Group met in August and continued knitting baby blankets for New Forest for Ukraine.

August ended with the return of Brockenhurst Carnival, called Brockival. We took part in the procession and also had a display in the church. You can read about it here.
