This year saw the return of Brockenhurst village Carnival. The first carnival was in 1912 and it was started to raise money for the school.
Since Brockenhurst WI started in 1918, it has taken part and formed a part of the carnival for many years, and we were keen to carry on this tradition this year.
The revived events is called Brockival and the theme of Brockival was ‘Brockenhurst’,

Members of Brockenhurst WI took part in the procession. We wore lovely green sashes that were embroidered by Jayne J and hats with purple flowers (to represent our suffragette forbearers). Thanks go to our members for making the flowers for the hats.

Carole wore our ‘Clean Rivers’ banner to show how we are also a campaigning organisation and care about our environment.

We also had a display in the church and our flower shop was also on display to accompany the wonderful flower displays from Mothers’ Union.

There was also a Gala in the Garden that featured stall, activities, food and drink.

A good time was had by all.
Thanks go to Brockenhurst Parish Council Events Committee and the huge world put in by Bronya for organising such a great event. We look forward to next year.
Thanks also go to those who took photographs at this event.
