At our meeting this month, we had a Craft evening where we made flowers for our flower shop entry for the Committee Cup at the New Forest Show. Flowers were made from paper, knitting, crochet, wire, fabric and air dried clay.

Rose created a cross stitch cover for the counter, Christine quilted a backdrop and Suzanne knitted a shopkeeper.

Further sessions were held to make more flowers and to put it all together. Some members made flowers at home too. It was a great team effort and thanks go to all involved.

This month the Craft Group put the finishing touches to their entry for the Craft Cooperative for the New Forest Show. The theme was musicals and created this colourful entry for Joseph and his Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.

The Knitting Group have been busy, contributing to both the Craft Cooperative and the Committee Cup entry for the New Forest Show. They are also busy knitting items for New Forest For Ukraine. You can read more about it here.

The Darts group have continued to practice on Thursday mornings at The Foresters Arms.

Rita and her team have continued to make bandages for Ukraine on Wednesday mornings.

Lunch Club was held at The White Hart in Cadnam. Everyone enjoyed a lovely lunch and we were well looked after. As usual, there was plenty of chat and laughter.

Our watering team have been kept busy watering the saplings that we planted at Brockenhurst Railway Station during the hot weather! Thankfully, the saplings have doubled in size. Grateful thanks go to the small but mighty watering team. If you can help us water the saplings even if it is just occasionally, please contact us for more details.

The month ended with the New Forest Show. As well as our entries in the Craft Cooperative and the Committee Cup, Brockenhurst WI members entered over 30 entries for the WI tent at the New Forest Show. Congratulations to each and every one of you for entering.
