June started with the NFWI annual meeting. This was online and was informative and had great speakers. You can read more about it here.
At our monthly meeting we learnt all about bees from Alan Baxter. You can read more about it here.

The Group stage of the WI Quiz was held. Broclenhurst had 2 teams take part. Barton Bees A and Ringwood both scored 130 and go through to the final. Brockenhurst WI’s teams score 121.5 and 110.5. A good evening was had by all.

The Craft Group and Knitting Group were busy working on their entry for the New Forest Show.

The Quilting Group had an afternoon session with tea and cake and also a whole day session with lunch supplied by Kim working on making a quilted rucksack.

The Cross Stitch Group had a session where Kim taught them about adding lettering to cross stitch projects.

From donations from Quilting and Cross Stitch sessions, £450 has being sent to ‘The Children’s Society’.
Due to extreme heat – even during the evening, our Croquet evening was postponed. So we have that to look forward to another time.
The Darts team have continued to practice on Thursday mornings.

Rita and her team of bandage makers have continued to make bandages for Ukraine, which are sadly still needed.

Our lunch club met at Steff’s Kitchen, Fairweathers Garden Centre, Beaulieu. We enjoyed a lovely lunch, in a side room all to ourselves. There was plenty of chat and laughs. Staff at Steph’s really looked after us well.

We look forward to our July activities.
