September Meeting

Despite the terrible sadness of Her Majesty the Queen’s death our meeting went ahead.  The Queen was a member of the Sandringham and West Newton WI since 1943.  After Jerusalem and a minute’s silence, we sang the National Anthem. We had a good turn-out including 6 guests at our April meeting. It was a busy meeting with a flower competition, a raffle, a shoebox collection of toiletries for Ukraine refugees and lots of sign-ip sheets for forthcoming activities! Thirty-six member and eight guests attended our March meeting. A pot of lovely bulbs  were presented to our Birthday girls. A car load of donations were collected for the Ukraine in addition to £235 for the Disasters Emergency Committee (which the Government will match). We welcomed several new members at our November meeting. This month we were treated to a talk by local photographer Gordon Small on the Flora and Fauna of Hampshire. Gordon talked us through his wonderful slideshow of photographs of a variety of birds, animals and fungi photographed at various locations in Hampshire.
