September Meeting

Despite the terrible sadness of Her Majesty the Queen’s death our meeting went ahead.  The Queen was a member of the Sandringham and West Newton WI since 1943.  After Jerusalem and a minute’s silence, we sang the National Anthem. Six ladies answered Julie’s call for help and aided in ripping several bags of polycotton sheets that have been donated into strips of different widths, that can be made into rolled bandages. New Forest Show 2022

After a two year gap, this week saw the return of the New Forest Show. The WI Schedule was ‘Step back in Time’ (carried over from 2020). The entry classes were: 1. ‘Sweets for my Sweet’ Peppermint Creams. Six sweets (half dipped in chocolate optional) displayed in a box with clear lid/clingfilm no larger than 6″ x 4″ (15 x 10cm). Bandage Making 20th July

Six members from Brockenhurst WI gathered to make more bandages for Ukraine. New Forest for Ukraine have been gifted some sheets, so we could get going making Triangular bandages which are much needed and go in the trauma packs.
