Brockenhurst WI’s December meeting took the format of taste testing 4 Christmas foods. This was organised by Jayne with the assistance of Karen, and we are grateful to the preparation and hard work involved.

Jayne had purchased 3 different brands of Pigs in Blankets, Mince Pies, Christmas puddings and Cranberry sauces. These were all tasted in turn and a sheet was filled in with comments and preferences. Totals were added up to see which were the overall favourite products as follows:

We also had mulled wine made by Liz and Evelyn.

The top table flowers were beautifully arranged by Geraldine. There were also table arrangements made by Rose and Elaine. On display was also a lantern decorated by Karen, which should have been on our stall at the cancelled Christmas Fun Evening, but it was too lovely not to bee seen. Grateful thanks go to Geraldine, Elaine, Rose, and Karen for you lovely arrangements.

The ‘Competition of the Month’ was a Christmas table decoration and the winner was Carole.

We also had a sales table of items that we should have sold at the cancelled Christmas Fun Evening. This was set up and run by Carole, Di, Janette, Sue K, and Sandy and grateful thanks got to them all.
We had a raffle run by Maureen and April.
Rose told us about the proposed Resolutions. You can read about them here. We will be voting on them at our January meeting.
We ended the evening with a cuppa, made by Geraldine and Esther.
The committee worked hard setting up the room. The evening really was a case of what can be achieved when members pull together and help and this made for a successful and very enjoyable evening. Grateful thanks go to each and every member who helped to make it such a great evening.
