Brockenhurst Group of WIs present “Christmas Carols” Craft and produce show.

Entries welcome from members of WIs in the Brockenhurst and Salterns Groups. On Saturday 30th November 2024. At St Mary Magdalene Church Hall, New Milton BH25 6QL Entry Cost: £1 per member entering regardless of the number of classes they enter.

All items to be delivered to the Church Hall for judging by 0930hrs on Friday 29th November 2024.

SECTION A: PRODUCE

A1 A Victoria sandwich cake which is to be decorated/iced in a Christmas theme. Cake to be made using the creaming method. Any size allowed, to be presented on a suitable cake board. Any accessories and decorations allowed if they are on the cake. Be as creative as you can with flavours and icing details.

A2 Lebkuchen decorated and iced. They do not have to be matching or identically decorated. 6 Served on a board covered in foil with clingfilm over the top. Board to be a fitting size on which to display the 6 biscuits.

A3 Yule Log served on a cake board no size restriction. Appropriate decorations and cake toppers may be used. These do not have to be hand made.

SECTION B: CRAFT

B1 Deck The Halls Christmas Wall Hanging or Advent Calendar using quilting, or patchwork. Item must be able to be displayed hanging. No maximum or minimum sizes.

B2 On the First Day of Christmas Inspired by the 12 Days of Christmas knit, crochet or felt something to represent this song or something mentioned in it. No toy restrictions.

B3 I Believe in Father Christmas Father Christmas depicted in cross stich/beading/embroidery/canvas work. (NO glass if in a frame) You can use a combination of these crafts on an individual entry. No size restrictions. No Christmas tree decorations in this class please.

B4 In dulci jubilo A sewn Christmas Apron for anyone to wear on Christmas Day. No style or size restriction. The item is sewn but can include any embellishments.

B5 Walking in a winter wonderland Skandi Gnome no size restriction but must be self-supporting and not a hanging ornament. Any crafts or a combination of crafts along with any craft materials may be used. No size restriction.

B6 O Christmas Tree Any recycled item made into a Christmas tree decoration which must be able to hang on a tree. Any necessary crafts may be used to achieve the new item. Also include a brief description of the original item and its use.

SECTION C: PHOTOGRAPHY AND ART

C1 Joy to the World Christmas Joy – A photograph in colour or black and white. Print not to exceed 7 x 5 inches (175mm x 125mm). Print must be framed so it can stand and can be mounted if desired.

C2 It’s Christmas! Aspects of Christmas Painting or drawing – any medium. Framed or mounted to include an easel or stand. Frame /mount size not to exceed 25 x 20 inches (525mm x 500mm).

SECTION D: FLORAL

D1 Silent Night, Holy Night

Let there be light!Use a lantern as part of your floral design. Fresh dried or artificial foliage and flowers may be used along with accompanying accessories. No size restriction. Please try to include battery lights or battery candle to enhance the item when displayed, this is not obligatory.

CO-OPERATIVE CLASSES

PRODUCE CO-OPERATIVE 3 WI MEMBERS TO PARTICIPATE

We wish you a merry Christmas 3 food items for a Christmas soirée. Served on a tray maximum overall size length 18inches x width 15inches. Tray can be any shape within these measurements.

CRAFT CO-OPERATIVE Ding, Dong! Merrily on High

Use any Carol to inspire your design for 3 different craft items linked to your choice of carol. Please display on a board maximum size 20inches x20inches. Back Boardoptional height in keeping with the width.

CO-OPERATIVE AND A BOARD 20 X 20INCHES MAXIMUM FOR CRAFT CO-OPERATIVE. The board for this year’s craft co-operative is the same size as the board used for the produce co-operative in the 2023 Easter show. The reason for the change is that we are hoping to have more entries, so we need to think about the space.****
