After some raining days, we were unsure how wet the forest would be for our May walk. We started with grey skies as we set off from Beechern Wood car park, Brockenhurst across Whitemoor.
We weren’t the only ones on Whitemoor and it was lovely to see a big group of ponies and foals, which we observed from a distance. (Photos taken with a zoom lens).
We noticed that the grass was showing a beautiful selection of wild flowers, including Lousewort and Common Milkwort. Many of these flowers grow due to the grazing of the animals ‘disturbing’ the soil. We agreed that we are truly luckily to live in such a beautiful place.
We walked up to Puttles Bridge, admiring the beautiful vivid shades of green.
As we walked through the woods, the sun came out and the birds were singing.
As we headed back to the car park, we all agreed that we had enjoyed our walk, having a chat and enjoying the wonderful scenery.
