This week’s bandage makers were Christine, Moira, Rita, Barbara, Julie & Janette. Approximately 80 triangular bandages were made today. We are having a busy August. Members have enjoyed a croquet evening, an event at Foxlease with other local WI clubs. We entered the New Forest Show. Beautifully made items taking hours to sew, knit, macrame, bake, make fruit marmalade, photograph, paint flower arrange and make a 1920’s larder with contents and a model allotment we managed to have several third prizes. On 14th July Brockenhurst, sixteen members from Brockenhurst WI went to Woodside Park in Lymington for a Croquet session. We played croquet under the supervision from members of the Croquet Club. After a two year gap, this week saw the return of the New Forest Show. The WI Schedule was ‘Step back in Time’ (carried over from 2020). The entry classes were: 1. ‘Sweets for my Sweet’ Peppermint Creams. Six sweets (half dipped in chocolate optional) displayed in a box with clear lid/clingfilm no larger than 6″ x 4″ (15 x 10cm).
