This month Brockenhurst WI celebrated 105 years with a lovely social evening which was well attended. Members were treated by the craft group to a variety of demonstrations and activities. On 27th January 12 Brockenhurst WI members and 5 of their partners enjoyed a morning visit to Testwood Lakes Nature Reserve, which is managed by Hampshire & Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust. Fourteen ladies met for our WI ladies lunch at the Forest Park Hotel in Brockenhurst today. We had pre ordered from the January menu. Eight members met for a very enjoyable and productive craft group meeting. We made several different Christmas cards, many from recycled items. Janette showed us a simple, but effective technique of a stitched tree with beads. Ann demonstrated making a box, also from old Christmas cards, and some members produced pretty boxes with motifs on the lids.
