October’s Meeting and Press Report

We met this month for our meeting at The Village Hall.  The competition of the month for this month was to make Christmas Tree decorations.  We received a good selection and money was raised by voting with silver coins for our charity ACWW.   The craft group brought along some of the July New Forest Show entries so that members could be encouraged to enter … Continue reading October’s Meeting and Press Report

Planning for December!

Friday 2nd December is the date for the Brockenhurst Christmas Fun Evening. Brockenhurst WI will be having a stall at the event. We have decided to sell homemade Christmas tree decorations and would very much like to get as many members as possible involved with this, either in making decorations to sell or helping on the night. We have just heard that 2000 trauma … Continue reading September Bandage Making for Ukraine

With winter approaching, people living in Ukraine are going to be feeling the cold. So Janice has been busy knitting hats that she has donated to New Forest for Ukraine. At our September meeting, Janice asked for more members to join … Continue reading Hats off for Ukraine

September Meeting

Despite the terrible sadness of Her Majesty the Queen’s death our meeting went ahead.  The Queen was a member of the Sandringham and West Newton WI since 1943.  After Jerusalem and a minute’s silence, we sang the National Anthem. It was a busy meeting as we had our “Glorious Gords” competition judged by last year’s winner, Di Fletcher. This year’s winner was Liz Wingham, with … Continue reading September Meeting

Bandage Making – Week of 5th September 2022

Six ladies answered Julie’s call for help and aided in ripping several bags of polycotton sheets that have been donated into strips of different widths, that can be made into rolled bandages. Christine, Moira, Margaret, Maureen, Anne N and Ann H worked very hard and at the end of the session there were 15 bags full of strips ready to be sewn together. Christine and … Continue reading Bandage Making – Week of 5th September 2022
