Brockenhurst WI committee are looking forward to welcoming our members and their guests for an evening of fun and friendship to celebrate Brockenhurst WI’s 108th Birthday and the WI’s 110th Birthday on Monday 9th February.
There will be a bumper raffle, so please bring some money to support this. Please also tell your guests to bring some cash for the raffle too.
There will be two ‘Competitions of the Month’ for February, so please do bring silver coins to vote for this. Money donated goes to ACWW
1). A Tea Cosy-‘knitted, crochet or improvised!’
2). A Snowdrop in a vase.
Brockenhurst WI have been asked if we would like a free stall at Community Volunteer Fair 8th March from 1-4pm to promote ourselves. Several of the committee including myself have prior commitments that day, so are asking if any members would like to run a stall at this event to promote us? Please email me if you would be interested.
A plea from Rita who leads the bandage making for Ukraine. Rita is in need of extra people to cut or rip up the sheets and people willing to sew up bandages in your own home. Ukraine needs WI in action!! Rita has asked me to forward the latest New Forest for Ukraine newsletter so you can find out what help Ukraine needs and how desperate the situation is. The Brockenhurst Group Show is on Saturday 21st March -from 10am-3.30 at St. Mary Magdalene Church Hall. Please do go along and see all the hard work that goes in to the entries. Entry costs £1 There is also a sales table and you can sell your handmade items here. Please ask for details.

Tuesday 24th March 2026 Hampshire Federation of Women’s Institutes’ Spring Council Meeting at Central Hall, Southampton. There are some great speakers lined up. Get your tickets here for a day of fun. There are three speakers, 700 members, bookshop, and other shopping. Wednesday 25th March- Karen is organising a Skittles evening with Fish and Chips supper at The Huntsman at 7pm. The cost is £14.50 There will be a sign up sheet at Monday’s meeting, or contact us to sign up.

Group Event – Bookfest on the afternoon of Friday 17th April, St.Mary Magdalene Church Hall. BROCKENHURST GROUP SOCIAL EVENT 2026 from L 2pm-4.30pm Cost £10 There will be talks from local authors. There will be tea, coffee and cake. The ticket price also includes a raffle ticket.Please take a preloved book which is a favourite of yours to donate. Put a card inside it saying why it’s your favourite. Then gift wrap it. At the end of the event, you will get to select a book to take home with you. 15 tickets are issued to each WI, and if there are spares from other WIs, these can be swapped if some branches are oversubscribed. sign up sheet at Monday’s meeting, or contact us to sign up. The Group stage of this years NFWI Quiz is on 10th June at St Savior’s Church all at 7pm There will be a sign up sheet at Monday’s meeting , or contact us to sign up.
If you are a budding photographer, why not enter Hampshire WI’s Calendar Competition. The theme for the 2027 Hampshire Calendar is ‘Water, water, everywhere in Hampshire. There will be an entry for at Monday’s meeting, or if you contact us, we’ll send you a form.
NFWI Heart Seminar
In the spirit of Valentine’s season and as part of our Bystanders Can Be Lifesavers campaign, we are excited to host our healthy heart webinar, ‘Put your heart first this Valentine’s: Everyday habits for lifelong heart health’, on Friday 13 February, 12:00-13:00pm.
This webinar will focus on ways to nurture your most important muscle, your heart. Learn simple, evidence-based lifestyle habits that can strengthen your cardiovascular health and promote you long-term wellbeing. We will hear from healthcare experts on the importance of nutrition, physical activity, stress management, and preventative care, as well as quick tricks for how to easily increase your heart resilience in your everyday routine.
