Brockenhurst WI’s January Round Up 2026

At our January meeting, we had a return of speaker Ken Fowler who’s talk interesting talk entitled  “Going Dizzy in A Dinghy – 250 islands, one bath tub sized boat, lots of adventures” kept us enthralled. Ken passed round a bucket to collect money for Oakhaven and Cancer Research. Ken also donated his speaker fee to these charities and the total was £270. We also had birthday cake for Brenda’s 90th Birthday. We also voted on the Resolutions for 2026. You can read more about the meeting here.

The Darts team have continued to practise on Thursday mornings at the Forester’s Arms from 11am. They are always welcoming of new people joining them, so why not give it a try.

The Lunch Club was held at Barton on Sea Golf Club and was organised by Christine and Elaine. Twenty members of Brockenhurst WI enjoyed a superb lunch and we were looked after well by the staff. We occasionally had a view of the Needles when the rain briefly abated. I think we will be back!

The Craft Group have been busy learning Rag Rugging under the tutelage of Carole (or getting on with their own projects).

The Cross Stitch group, under the tutelage of Kim have been making a needle case.

The Quilting group, under the tutelage of Kim have been learning the Bargello quilting technique.

We look forward to February and our 108th Birthday!
