New Forest Show 2026 Draft Schedule

THEME: ‘A LITTLE OF WHAT YOU FANCY’

Date: 28th-30th July 2026

CLASSES

  1. ‘Lemon Drizzle Delight’
    A lemon drizzle cake, baked in a 1lb loaf tin and presented on a size-appropriate board.
    Imagination to be used for the topping. No buttercream.
  2. Citrus Curd ‘Simply the Zest’
    Any citrus flavour to be displayed in a clear glass jar, no larger than 225g, covered with a
    wax circle and cellophane top. Twist tops/lids are not acceptable.
  3. Novice Class ‘A Merry Mocktail’
    Any flavour of non-alcoholic drink, to be presented in a bottle no larger than 550ml, new
    screw top or swing top (for the judge to taste undiluted). To be presented on a small tray
    with a cocktail glass. Small accessories acceptable. Please add name of WI to underside of
    tray, glass and bottle.
    *Open to members who have not previously won a 1st Prize in this category in the WI
    Tent
  4. Produce Co-operative – ‘Spice up your night’ ‘An Indian Takeaway’
    Three Indian takeaway items, can be street food or snacks, two savoury and one sweet,
    presented on a board no larger than 51x51cm. Backboard optional but must be within the
    sizes quoted; to be viewed from the front. No meat or fish and all food items to be covered
    with cling film. All items must be removable for judging. Accessories may be used but must
    be within the exhibit area and will be marked as part of Staging and Interpretation. Please
    add name of WI on underside of board. At least three members to take part, but only two to
    stage on Monday 27th July.
  5. ‘A set of Lingerie – ‘Sweet and sassy’ ‘Camisole & Knickers’
    Any fabric/style/size for an adult.
  6. ‘Christmas Door Wreath’ – ‘Tis the season’
    Mixed media, no fresh flowers or greenery and no larger than 30cm in diameter. Loop to be
    added to the back of the wreath for hanging.
  7. Charity Class
    Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), Southampton Hospital

    A child’s blanket, knitted or crocheted, minimum size 70x90cm, maximum size
    100x120cm. No embellishments, ribbons, buttons and no holes, no backing and back to be
    carefully finished. Yarn suitable for machine washing; attach yarn label to entry label. All
    entries submitted will be retained and donated to PICU.
  8. Craft Co-operative
    ‘Fancy a Trip to the Theatre’
    (any show – name of show/play to be displayed)
    Three different craft items, presented on a board no larger than 61x77cm, backboard
    optional, but must be within the sizes quoted; viewed from the front. All items must be
    removable for judging. Accessories may be used but must be within the exhibit area and
    will be marked as part of the Staging and Interpretation. Please add name of WI to
    underside of board. At least three members to take part, but only two to stage on Monday
    27th July.
  9. Flowers – ‘Sweets for my sweet’
    A fresh flower arrangement to be displayed in a chocolate/sweet box (NO large plastic
    sweet tubs). Box to include a suitable container for water. No dyed, dried, silk flowers or
    oasis.
    10.Photography ‘Funny/Amusing photo (could be staged in the style of Beryl Cook)’
    The photograph should be no larger than 13x18cm; framed within a mount; ready to
    hang/stand (no clip frames). Maximum of two entries per member.
    11.Art -– ‘Under Cover’
    ‘Redesign/recreate/re-imagine your favourite book cover’
    A painting/drawing, any medium, nothing stitched or sewn. Exhibit must be framed, glazed
    and ready to hang (no box frames, clip frames or canvases due to humidity). Width no
    larger than 36cm, height appropriate. (Attach a photo of the original book cover to the back
    of the frame).
    12.Sewing – ‘Charming & Chic’
    ‘A Special Occasion Decorated Beaded Bag’
    No larger than 20x15cm. No kits please.
    13.Committee Cup (public vote) – ‘Open all hours’
    ‘A Shop Scene’ (containing ‘a little of what you fancy’)
    To be presented on a board no larger than 35x35cm, to be viewed from the front. Several
    members to participate. Craft items only, no mechanics or commercial toys. Please add
    name of WI to underside of board.
    14.Children’s Class – ‘A spoonful of sugar’
    ‘A Decorated Wooden Spoon’
    This class is open to family members. Age range is under 6 and 7-10. Committee to judge.
