We started October by having a stall at the Artisan Market at the railway station where we were promoting our campaign and giving out information cards. ‘Bystanders can be Lifesavers’ empowers people with information and training options of what to do if someone has a cardiac arrest.
We were concentrating on the following resources:
https://www.defibfinder.uk/ lists the nearest defibrillators to you (wherever you are in the uk)
https://revivr.bhf.org.uk/?shar=1 is a great CPR and defibrillator training tool that takes just 15 minutes and could save a life!
https://what3words.com/ will help you to pinpoint your location in an emergency.

Our monthly meeting is on Monday 13th October, please arrive after 7pm for a 7.30pm start. Our speaker is Liz Murray and she will be talking about “Health is Wealth. Protect your greatest asset”.
At the meeting, there will be the judging of our 2025 ‘Growing Competition, which was growing luffas, so please bring along any luffa’s that you have grown. Points will be awarded for the length of sponge and the overall condition.
The “Competition of Month” is “Fruit from the Garden” – whether it be perfect looking or wonky fruits, bring them along! Members vote for their favourite with a silver coin of any denomination and the winner is the item with the most coins. Donations go to ACWW. We will also have our usual raffle and refreshments.
