Julie welcomed 42 members and a guest to our September meeting.

 There was a display of New Forest Show entries and Julie congratulated all this who took part.

This was a craft evening which gave everyone a chance to get in touch with their creative side and have a chat too.

There was also a quiz for those not wanting to do crafts.

We had a Collection box for South Central Ambulance Service after our excellent talkative dn demonstration at our July meeting.

The Competition of the month was a photograph and members voted for their favourite with a silver coin (which is donated to ACWW). The winner was Christine.

There were reminders about Activities  and lots of sign up sheets:

–World Textile Day – Sat 27^th September The world textile days are a group of textile collectors and traders who get together to exhibit and sell textiles from all parts of the world from different countries around the world. 
The days were first started by Jim and Di Gaffney of Textile Traders with their pieces from South east Aisia and Magie and Bob Relph from The African Fabric shop.  

The day is from 10-4 pm with various stalls of textiles and clothes from various countries and a textile talk by an expert in the morning and another in the afternoon.

The morning talk is on the Tentmakers of Cairo entitled  ‘A Stitch through Time’  where there will be some old collections of tentmaker pieces dating from the late 1800’s and tracking the history to the present day.

There will be plenty of other treasures to see and there will also be refreshments/ lunch available as well (served by Brockenhurst WI).
