Brockenhurst WI July Activities 2025

Here are the July activities.

On Monday July 14th 2025 it is our Monthly Meeting at Brockenhurst Village Hall – arrival from 7pm for a 7.30pm start.

Karen and her friend will be demonstrating how to arrange a hand tied bouquet (which is a category for the New Forest Show).

Rose will be telling us more about the current WI Campaign –Bystanders can be Lifesavers and Zena will be demonstrating how to use a defibrillator. There will be a collection tin for SCAS (Southern Central Ambulance Service) and Zena will tell us about the important work they do. So please bring your purse.

The new parking scheme is in operation at Brockenhurst Village Hall, so please come with your car registration to hand to input into the tablet and enable you to get free parking. There will be help available in reception.

Our ‘Competition of the Month’ is “A Summer Read”, so bring a book (or a screenshot of a book if you are a Kindle reader) that you are currently reading to give ideas/inspiration to others of what to read. Members vote for their favourite with a silver coin of any denomination and the winner is the item with the most coins. Donations go to ACWW.

We will also have a raffle run by Maureen and assisted by April.

This will be the last meeting where we will be collecting for Honeypot. So, if you have any small items that can be used to fill memory bags (given to young carers) such as small Lego, Uno or card games, stationery, accessories for girls like hair accessories, bracelets etc, small games and puzzles, please bring them along on Monday. Thank you for your support with this, for such a worthy cause.

The New Forest Show is fast approaching, and we can’t wait to see all your entries in the Hampshire WI Show Tent. We recommend that you check the schedule here to make sure that you are complying with the wording as it is very easy to forget a small detail! (It’s happened to me!) Please either bring completed entries to Monday’s meeting, or contact us for delivery information (to be delivered by 5pm on Sunday 27th July and Christine and her team will take them to the Showground for you. Alternatively, please deliver your own items to the WI tent at New Park Showground between 9.00am and 10.30am on Monday 28th July.

This can be in colour or black and white. This is the theme of the Group Show in March and covers such a lovely broad range of subjects, so get snapping. (For the Group Show, the print should not to exceed 7 x 5 inches (175mm x 125mm). Print must be framed so it can stand and can be mounted if desired.)

Please continue to save items of denim clothing (jeans, jackets etc) for future projects.  Please also save buttons, ribbon, zips, small pieces of coloured fabric or felt. More information will follow!
