This week saw The New Forest and Hampshire Show take place at New Park, Brockenhurst, in vert hot conditions!

The theme was ‘A Day at the Beach’. (For the schedule see here).

Eighteen members from Brockenhurst WI entered in 8 categories with a total of 45 entries!

Our members gained:

• Four green stars (for 14/20 points)
• Seven blue stars (for 14/20 points)
• Two red stars (for 15/20 points)
• Thirteen Silver stars (for 15/20 points)
• Ten double silver stars (for 18 or 19/20 points)
• One gold star (for 20/20 points). This was awarded to Christine K for her great photograph of Hythe Pier.

We had nine entries in Class 7 Charity Class which got us making Honeypot Memory Bags for children aged 5 – 12 years, from the pattern supplied. These entries are donated to the Honeypot charity, a local charity which supports young carers. It gives them countryside respite breaks for children with responsibilities beyond their years the opportunity to make happy memories and build brighter futures. Our thanks go to Kim for teaching us great sewing skills.

Congratulations go to all those who entered, especially those who entered for the first time. Although it may seem daunting to enter, a great amount is learnt from entering

Special congratulations go to new member Rose who got a silver star for her cordial.
