May Round Up 2024

Our monthly meeting was our AGM. We also had a Brockenhurst born and bred speaker, Sophie Paulson. You can read more here.

Our Lunch Club met at the Oak at Bank. The group had a nice table by the window and enjoyed a good chat. The staff were friendly and looked after us well.

It was a lovely day with a gentle breeze our May walk and meet up. We saw to foals and heard a Cuckoo and the Forest looked lovely in the sunshine.

The walk fitted in well to Me, Myself & WI programme between 13th May – 17th May, incorporating self-care into daily routines and highlight its significance for overall well-being.

We all felt better for being out in nature and having a chat.

Our first Craft Group was on 10th May Craft Group. Six members met up at Anne’s house, where she demonstrated long-stitch. We copied, except for Gina, who went rogue and did a bucket and spade, Anne’s seascape with waves, and a boat. We nearly all finished our pieces, and the did look very good. Well, Evelyn’s was a bit Titanic! Not sure it was seaworthy, but we all enjoyed learning a new craft, as well as a social afternoon with tea.

Our second Craft Group session was hosted by Lindy and we looked at and tried various papercratfts. Ann bought a selection of books and patterns for iris folding which some of us tried. Ideas were shared and tea and cake were enjoyed.

Kim has continued to teach Appliqué to her group. We enjoyed learning new techniques and also Kim’s delicious cakes served alongside a cuppa.

Rita and her team have continued to make bandages for Ukraine on Wednesday mornings from 10-12.

Our Darts Team have continued to practice every Thursday Morning at The Foresters Arms from 11 am.
