The following activities will take place this month:
On Monday 11th March 2024 we have our Monthly Meeting with speaker Alexandra Gillies -and the subject is “Change vs Sustainable Tourism”. It will be held at Brockenhurst Village Hall and arrival is from 7pm for a 7.30pm start. Guests and visitors are welcome to attend.
The competition of the month in aid of ACWW will be a flower. So please bring a single bloom in a vase for our competition table. Members vote using a silver coin for their favourite flower. The flower with the most coins is the winner. The money is sent to our charity ACWW.
Rita is continuing with Bandage Making for Ukraine on Wednesday mornings from 10-12 noon at Rita’s house. All welcome to come along and help. Rita also welcomes help from those who can’t attend the bandage making sessions, but can help in their own homes. Rita is especially in need of people with sewing machines to do some simple machine sewing.Please contact us for more details and location or speak to Rita at Monday’s meeting.

The Darts team continue to practice most Thursdays at 11am at the Foresters Arms, Brookley Road, Brockenhurst. All welcome to join in. Please contact us for more details.

Village Litter Pick – Monday 11th March 2024 at 13:00. Meet on the green opposite the College (Waters Green)
Plastic Free Brockenhurst is joining with Students Union at Brockenhurst College to organise a Village Litter Pick and have asked Brockenhurst WI to take part too. The WI started the Keep Britain Tidy campaign 70 years ago and
It would be great if Brockenhurst WI turned up to work along side students and build more bridges between the communities.
Bring along gloves, and your own litter picker if you have one. If not, there will be litter pickers to borrow.

On Friday 15th March at 10.30am, Julie will be running a demonstration and discussion session for making a Dorset Apple cake . Dorset Apple Cake is one of the categories at The New Forest Show this year and this session will help in preparation for this. Please contact us for more information or sign up at the next meeting . (There will also be a similar event for fudge making – watch this space!)
The Craft Group will be running a session on Friday 15th March from 2-4pm at Julie’s house. Please contact us for more information, to book a place and for the location. Do see Carole at the monthly meeting if you have any questions or would like to attend future sessions and Carole will put you on the distribution list.

Julie will be leading the next walk and meet up on Monday 18th March starting at 2pm. Meet at Beechern Wood car park off the Rhinefield Road, Brockenhurst. Please sign up at Monday’s meeting and provide your contact details as walks may have to be cancelled at the last minute this time of year! So do contact us if you’d like to come along so we know to expect you. The forest can be wet/muddy, so please wear suitable footwear.

Saturday 27th & Sunday 28th April 2024 Needlework Fiesta at Brockenhurst Village Hall. Brockenhurst WI are running the refreshments stall at this event and are looking for cake makers and volunteers to help over the weekend. So do contact us is you can help or fill in the sign-up sheets at Monday’s meeting.
