Rita and her team have continued with Bandage Making for Ukraine on Wednesday mornings from 10-12 noon at Rita’s house. All welcome to come along and help on future Wednesdays. Rita also welcomes help from those who can’t attend the bandage making sessions, but can help in their own homes. Rita is especially in need of people with sewing machines to do some simple machine sewing. Please contact us for more details and location or speak to Rita at our monthly meeting.

The Darts team have continued to practice on Thursday mornings at The Foresters Arms in preparation for the next tournament.

Our monthly meeting was our 106th Birthday. We celebrated with a fish and chip supper and quizzes and games supplied by Issy and Karen. We enjoyed our supper, having a laugh and a chat. Certificates were handed out. Pam M raised a toast to the branch, and gave us some interesting facts about what WI members had achieved in Brockenhurst in the past, supporting activities and ventures in the village. Brockenhurst WI took part in the Village Pancake Race on Shrove Tuesday. We had a team in the Walking Relay Race. Our team consisted of Janice, Julie, Anne P and Evelyn. We came second and were proud to be awarded our silver medals. Thank you Esther for the pancake.

The Craft Group had another go at Needle Felting, lead by Evelyn. Ann and Anne decided to preserve their fingers and brought their knitting. Plasters weren’t needed on this occasion and people tried different types of needle felting.

The Lunch Club visited The Monkey Brew House in Lymington. There were fifteen of us split over two tables. Everyone enjoyed it and the food was good and the staff looked after us very well.

Two woman and a dog ‘enjoyed’ a walk on a wet, soggy day in a wet soggy month! But there were still beautiful sights to see in New Forest. One of us enjoyed the water more than the others! . The rain did stop and we kept to the more solid paths, enjoying a chat and getting some fresh air.
