January Round Up 2024

At the start of the month, many of Brockenhurst WI members enjoyed the village pantomime (oh yes we did!) It was great seeing Brockenhurst WI member Judy in the pantomime playing the Minstrel in Babes in the Woods.

Our January meeting, Evelyn welcomed 3 visitors and a room full of members, which was great to see on a cold evening. Evelyn and the committee appealed to for members to join the committee. Our speaker was  Dr Hugh Bethall, a retired GP from Alton who talked to us about “Exercise, Fitness & Health”. Read more here.

Rita and team have continued to run bandage making sessions for Ukraine.

Rita and team have been rightly recognised for their work over the months. Well done all.

Julie led a walk and thankfully chose a dry day for it. Members enjoyed walking in the sunshine, having a chat and getting some fresh air after so many wet days.

Janette has continued to run darts practice sessions on Thursdays at 11am at Foresters Arms, Brookley Road, Brockenhurst. All welcome to join in. Please contact us for more details.

Carole has hosted two craft sessions. The first session was a planning session. At the second sessions, the group made some beautiful cards.

Kim has hosted 2 sessions teaching members the technique of Appliqué. As well as looking at colours and fabrics, we also enjoyed cake and a cuppa!

Christine K organised lunch at The Hare and Hounds in Sway. There was a record turn out with 21 ladies attending and we took up one end of the pub!. There was lots of chat and a good time was had.

We look forward to seeing members at our February meeting on Monday 12th February for our 106th Birthday celebrations and at our February activities.
