We start our Autumn activities this week with our Group Social “An Evening of Chocolate” for members who have already bought their tickets. This is a joint activity with the Brockenhurst Group of WIs, Brockenhurst, Sway, New Milton and Barton Bees. If you are coming (unfortunately as we were limited in numbers, only those who have booked), please bring an apron as you will be making chocolates and it may get messy! There will be a quiz and a raffle with lovely prizes donated by generous local business.

Our October meeting is on 11th October and will be a craft evening. members of the Craft Group will be teaching us a choice of several card making techniques. Some will be more challenging, such as Ann Hessey’s lovely paper folding, others will be simpler for those who want something easier, but still effective. Please bring a pair of scissors (labelled with your name).

There will be information on display about an activity we have been invited to take part it, to produce squares for a community quilt, supporting the National United for Warm Homes Campaign. This is a joint effort by Greener Brockenhurst with Friends of the Earth to produce a visual aid reflecting the need for renewables, insulation and warm homes. If you are interested in making a square as part of this, information will be on the table with the other sign-up sheets, as well as a link for more details. We have many talented members who could make a square so we hope that as many people as possible will take part.
