On Friday 9th June, eight ladies spent a very productive afternoon with Ann Hessey, who skilfully demonstrated tea-bag folding origami cards. We all produced delightfully colourful cards, once we had managed to fold up tiny squares of paper, not so easy for some of us with clumsy fingers (me). We were all very pleased with our cards, and were surprised that it didn’t us too long. We hope some members will now be inspired to enter a card for the New Forest Show. We did feel that these workshops do definitely encourage people to enter.

On Friday 23rd June, Kim led a workshop on cape making – one of the categories for The New Forest Show. It is the charity category and capes made will be donated to Lennox Children’s Cancer Hospital in Essex. As usual, Kim helped and inspired us to make and decorate a cape.

On the 23rd June, a group of members were hosted by Kim for a very productive and enjoyable afternoon. Kim had suggested this following a request through the Quilters Guild from the Princess Anne Hospital. Angel pockets are small, soft wraps in which stillborn babies can be presented to their parents. It is a sad requirement, but members were glad to help. Over 40 pockets were made, and it was a fun afternoon.

Craft Club member Corinne answered a plea from Brockenhurst Primary School and has been very busy and has made 50m of bunting out of recycled school uniform. The bunting was used at the School Fete and I’m sure you’ll agree that is looks amazing! Well done Corinne!

The next craft group session is on Friday 7th July at Carole’s house and we will be working on the cooperative entry for the New Forest Show .
