April Round-Up

Our April activities started with our April meeting with a talk by Claire Sherwood from The New Forest Park Authority. A report can be read here.

Rita has continued to head up bandage making for Ukraine and the team are doing sterling working making and rolled bandages which will be sent to Ukraine. Rita welcome help either on Wednesday mornings from 10am -12 noon. Or the tasks can be done on your own home.

Our Darts team are continuing to practice on Thursday mornings at The Foresters Arms for the upcoming tournament.

As always, Brockenhurst WI members pulled together to make cakes and serve refreshments at the recent Needlework Fiesta at Brockenhurst Village Hall. We are grateful to Janette for spearheading this event and to all those members who made cakes and helped at this event. It is a major fundraiser for us which helps us to cover the costs of our meeting and speakers.

Our Lunch Club met at the Old Station Tea Rooms in Holmsey. Ten ladies enjoyed their lunch. There was lots of chatting and laughter. Everyone seemed to enjoy it.

Four brave ladies arrived for the walk and meet-up just as the rain started! However, this didn’t stop us enjoying what we could see of the scenery through the rain! We saw wild flowers, blossom, gorse, leaves appearing on trees and even a duck on Ober water! Moira thought we were taking Forest Bathing literally!

But we chatted, laughed and agreed that it was worth getting soaking wet for!

Our Craft Group resumed after its Easter break with a session of Gingerbread making led by Evelyn.

It was good to do some cooking, have a chat and a cuppa and learn some tips and hints.

We now look forward to May activities and a post with these will be published in a few days.
