Friday 2nd December is the date for the Brockenhurst Christmas Fun Evening.
Brockenhurst WI will be having a stall at the event.
We have decided to sell homemade Christmas tree decorations and would very much like to get as many members as possible involved with this, either in making decorations to sell or helping on the night.
To get the (bau)bles started, our competition of the month for October at our October meeting will be a Christmas tree ornament or decoration to hang, place or wrap around a christmas tree. This can be knitted, crochet, cones decorated, made of recycled materials …. suggested size: no more than 12.5 cm or 5 inches.
In case you are not aware, members judge the competition of the month by placing silver coins (these coins are donated to ACWW: Associated Country Women of the World *) next to their favourite item. It is the most coins rather than their value which decides the winning entry.
* ACWW projects allow you to support real-life changes for women in rural communities around the world. They are women-led and designed by women in their own communities.
Even if you can’t make a decoration for the competition of the month, we would encourage all members to help us in making decorations. We know from our monthly meetings when we have done craft activities and from our craft group that we have many talented members.
Here are some ideas:

The craft group have meetings planned for Friday 14th October and Friday 28th October, both starting at 2pm. we will be making Christmas decorations for out stall at both sessions. Please contact Carole (contact details in email from Elaine from 5th October) or contact us for more information and for the location.
There may also be additions sessions making decorations – look out for details of this!
On the night of The Christmas Fun Evening, we would like a few helpers please. If anyone is good at displaying items on a stall outside then please let me know. This will be sometime between 4pm and 6pm. We also require helpers on the stall from 6pm-8pm.
Thank you
